Our Story

Our Story
Indigenous Mana was founded on the belief that every young person deserves the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their circumstances. Recognising the challenges faced by many Indigenous youth, we established a space where culture, identity, and community converge to create meaningful change.
Drawing from our lived experiences, cultural heritage, and passion for supporting vulnerable communities, we strive to guide youth away from the criminal justice system and toward brighter futures.
Our Core Values
-
Cultural Reconnection
We celebrate the strength of Indigenous heritage and strive to foster a deep connection between youth and their cultural roots.
-
Empowerment
Through mentorship and tailored programs, we aim to build confidence and resilience in every individual.
-
Community
We believe in unity and collaboration, working hand-in-hand with communities to create lasting change.
-
Integrity
Our actions are guided by transparency, accountability, and respect for all people.
Why We Exist
-
Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islanders, Maori and Pacific Islanders are overpresented in the Australian criminal justice system.
-
To openly educate through shared knowledge of Indigenous cultures between Indigenous and non-Indigenous.
-
There is a growing need of culturally competent services to work effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) clients.

The overrepresentation of Indigenous cultures in the criminal justice system is not just statistics – they represent lives and futures. At Indigenous Mana, we aim to transform these realities by addressing the root causes of disadvantage and guiding youth toward opportunities for growth and success.
